MARIANNA PROJECT
This modern home is located on a flag lot in Atherton, California. The linear design gives it an expansive feel providing views of the beautiful landscape from every room. Western cedar siding and large wood framed windows soften the steel troweled stucco and metal components of the structure. A combination of flat and sloped standing seam metal roofing makes for an interesting design. Steel and glass canopies and awnings were used for weather protection. The house has an open plan which is perfect for gatherings and art installation. The bright interiors evoke a semi industrial feel because of glass and steel but warmed up by the use of different kinds of hardwood elements. Flush baseboard and door trims with extensive use of fry reglet are evident throughout the house. Steel window trims and stainless steel cabinets were also used throughout.
